Wolverhampton Wanderers beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at Molineux as Fer López's second half winner lifted them from ninth to fourth in the Championship, with Albion slipping from fourth to fifth.

In the 50th minute, Fer López swept a left-footed finish into the bottom left from the centre of the box.

Max O'Leary kept West Bromwich Albion in it before the break, making five saves in the first half. José Sá then smothered Jimmy Morgan's late drive (88.).

Wolves were solid once ahead. Toti made seven clearances, while Nasser Djiga added two clearances and a block to see out the points.

Before the interval, Wolves forced a string of corners, with O'Leary twice denying close-range efforts in quick succession as the pressure built.

Wolves registered six shots on target from 15 attempts. West Bromwich Albion produced two efforts on target from seven.
