The Wolves 1877 Trust said in a statement that the future is not bright or clear and urged club leaders to learn from past mistakes after relegation was confirmed.
Wolves had spent the season in the bottom three. Defeat to Leeds on Saturday, followed by West Ham’s draw with Crystal Palace, sealed the drop.
The road back is arduous, with only one in four relegated clubs returning at the first attempt. Promotion requires a different approach, avoiding past errors and listening to supporters.
The club is back where it started under Fosun, yet some areas are worse, including stadium dilapidation, strained fan relations and a marginalised council. Trust in Fosun has, for some, eroded, with opinion split between a second chance and calls to sell.
Avoiding a double relegation at all costs was set as a priority, with consultation urged with figures involved in 2011/12 and 2012/13. Senior hires should have English football experience, and players with domestic know-how should be retained over newcomers untested in England.
Ticket price cuts promised this season should be honoured. Molineux has not been full often enough, with pricing blamed for flat atmospheres and hopes that priced-out supporters return, even if crowds dip.
Fan engagement is improving, with a forum due, though more remains to do. Wolves Women were praised and could go up to Women’s Super League two this weekend.
