Rob Edwards has lifted Wolves and set out next season’s plan, even with relegation still a threat. The club are building momentum and preparing for either the Premier League or the Championship.

According to Telegraph, Wolves have eight games left and a 13-point gap to safety. Results include wins over Liverpool and Aston Villa, a draw with Arsenal, and only one defeat in five.

January reshaped the squad. Jorgen Strand Larsen joined Crystal Palace for £48m, Jhon Arias departed for £21m agreed with Palmeiras and Emmanuel Agbadou moved for just over £17m. Adam Armstrong signed from Southampton for £7m and Angel Gomes arrived on loan from Marseille with a £6m option.

Edwards is already in recruitment meetings, seeking quick business for a tight group built around home-grown players, youth and selective overseas signings. Teenager Mateus Mane has flourished under Edwards alongside first-team coach Harry Watling.

It has still been a miserable season. Vitor Pereira was sacked after a 3-0 loss at Fulham following a poor summer window, and Edwards launched a crash-course pre-season to address fitness. Santiago Bueno was named player of the month for February.

After Brentford there is a 24-day gap to West Ham on April 10, with Leeds, Tottenham and Burnley still to play. Wolves may have left it too late, but the target of 'Premier League 27-28' frames a strong finish.
