Wolves have revised their pre-season plans after their Real Sociedad friendly was brought forward by 72 hours to Saturday, July 25, with a five pm kick-off at Walsall’s Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium.

Cesar Peixoto’s team had originally been due to play the Basque side on Tuesday, July 28 at the same venue. According to ExpressAndStar.com, the switch has prompted a reshuffle of preparations.

Villa had been scheduled to face Sociedad there on the new date, but the fixtures have been swapped following changes to the Premier League club’s planned Asia tour.

Wolves are set to open pre-season at non-league Maidenhead United on Wednesday, July 22 at seven thirty pm.

They then travel to face SC Heerenveen in the Netherlands on Saturday, August one at three pm, one week before the season begins with the first round of the Carabao Cup.

Players not away at the World Cup are due back for pre-season training in early July.
