Wolves chairman Nathan Shi has pledged to review the ban on the Liquidator at Molineux after supporters urged a rethink at a fans’ forum this week.

ExpressAndStar.com reports that the reggae instrumental has not been played by Wolves for more than 20 years, with fans’ chants including an expletive aimed at rivals West Brom. The track remains in use at Albion and Chelsea.

In a Fan Advisory Board meeting last month, the club confirmed the song would not return, citing concerns over offensive chanting.

Supporters asked Shi to reconsider, describing a reinstatement as an easy win. He said he would listen to differing views, hold another serious discussion and inform fans of the outcome.

Shi added that he recognises the song’s importance to many fans, promised a thorough review, and said he would provide an update at the very beginning of the season.
