Wolves have sold defender Ki-Jana Hoever to Sparta Prague, ending a six-year spell with limited game time.
Technical director Matt Jackson said the full-back, who had one year left on his deal, needed a solution that suited everyone. He praised Hoever’s professionalism, said his loans brought exposure and his application was excellent, yet added he had never convinced any manager and that players often need a permanent home and a rhythm of regular games.
The 24-year-old joined from Liverpool for £13.5million in 2020 and made 33 appearances for Wolves.
Much of his time at Molineux was spent on loan, including two spells with Stoke City. He also spent the second half of last season in the Championship with Sheffield United.
Hoever was not involved in pre-season under Cesar Peixoto and had been training away from the first-team group.
