Wolverhampton Wanderers have had a quiet summer window following relegation back to the Championship, and with less than a week remaining until the deadline, the Old Gold are running out of time to complete some important business.

Indeed, following relegation from the Premier League, Wolves have undergone a surprisingly quiet window, retaining the services of the majority of their star players, including Mateus Mane, Fer Lopez, and Andre.

It looked like it would be an action-packed few months when the decision to sack Rob Edwards and replace the Welshman with Cesar Peixoto was made in June, especially with both Raul Jimenez and Kieran Trippier having penned deals in the Black Country before the Portuguese's appointment.

However, since Peixoto took the reins, only Rafiki Said and Jordan James have put pen to paper on deals at Molineux, as heading into the final week of the window, there is room for manoeuvre for Wolves, with a Premier League winger having been previously targeted.

Last week, according to The Argus, Wolves registered an interest in Brighton and Hove Albion winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, following the 21-year-old's excellent loan spell in League One with Bolton Wanderers last season, helping the Trotters return to the Championship after seven years away.

Cozier-Duberry scored eight and assisted 10 in 34 League One games in Greater Manchester, playing a crucial role for Steven Schumacher's side on their way to victory at Wembley over Stockport County in the play-off final.

The Arsenal academy product has been the subject of rejected bids from Belgian side Anderlecht, who saw a £5 million offer knocked back, as well as Scottish outfit Rangers, who have seen a deal worth £7.5 million rebuffed for the Englishman.

West Ham United have also been credited with an interest in the winger, as Sussex Express have reported that a fee worth around £10 million should be enough to prise him away from the Seagulls before the deadline.

Football League World's Wolves fan pundit, Thomas Woodhall, has shared their thoughts on the links with Cozier-Duberry, and whether he is someone they would like to see at Molineux for that touted £10 million fee.

Thomas said: "No, I wouldn't be racing for his signature. League One is League One. The Championship is the Championship. I think you can do really well in one and flop completely in the other.

"He's highly rated at Brighton, and obviously, if other teams are looking into him, they must see something too. But I don't think we need to fall over ourselves trying to get hold of him.

"I think we've got plenty in the team, and I think maybe someone that's already Championship-proven would be a better choice.

"We've already got players that are up and coming. If this is another one of those, and it's not for the here and now, then it doesn't make much sense.

"I wouldn't be disappointed to see it, but also it wouldn't be the dream signing."

With just two signings through the door under his watch so far, Peixoto will surely be keen to add at least a couple more faces to his ranks before the deadline, especially up top.

Whilst the Old Gold can boast the likes of Jimenez, Mane, Lopez, Said, Adam Armstrong, Rodrigo Gomes, and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, another option or two, especially on the flanks, wouldn't go amiss.

Cozier-Duberry could fill that vacancy and then some, though whether that £10 million asking price is too steep for Wolves to stomach at this stage remains to be seen.
