Wolves enter deadline day with decisions pending on David Moller Wolfe, Ladislav Krejci, Santiago Bueno and goalkeeper Jose Sa, whose futures could be decided by the 11pm cut-off. The club would prefer to retain them if possible.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Hamburg are pursuing the 24-year-old left-back David Moller Wolfe, but no deal had been struck by Monday night. He trained at Compton Park and travelled to London for Tuesday’s Championship match at West Ham.

It is thought he will be allowed to leave only if a replacement can be secured.

Ladislav Krejci, a £26 million permanent signing this summer after last season’s loan, is among players who had been seeking moves. No club has matched Wolves’ valuation, with West Ham unsuccessful after the 27-year-old signalled he did not want to remain in the Championship. The hope at Molineux is that he stays and is reintegrated after only one substitute outing so far.

Sa has started the last three matches, though head coach Cesar Peixoto said on Friday it was not 100 per cent certain he would remain. Rayo Vallecano have been credited with an interest.

Attempts to move on high earners deemed surplus, including Hwang Hee-chan and Sam Johnstone, have constrained business. Johnstone is in talks with Celtic over a possible switch, which may initially be a loan.

What looked like a major rebuild has so far brought six arrivals. Peixoto wants a right-sided winger and a striker, but further deals are likely to hinge on departures.
