After scoring 11 times for Leicester City last term, the 22-year-old returns to the Midlands ahead of a potential permanent switch next summer - should Wolves trigger an option worth a reported £10 million.

The Wales international is the fourth man to come through the door at Compton Park this summer, following in the footsteps of Kieran Trippier, Raul Jimenez and Rafiki Said.

Cesar Peixoto's side are preparing for a trip to Preston North End on Saturday, as they aim to put three points on the board for the first time this season after playing out a 2-2 draw with Blackburn on opening night.

New man James could feature, and Wolves star Andre may be hoping that he does, after the Brazilian gave his seal of approval before James' announcement.

Andre's content on the streaming platform Twitch has become quite popular among Wolves fans - especially after he expressed his desire to stay at the club during a livestream last season.

On Wednesday, he took a look at some of James' highlights after the midfielder arrived in the Black Country yesterday to seal his move.

After witnessing his effort from range against Queens Park Rangers last term, Andre remained in awe, saying: "My friend, look at this!"

Later Wednesday evening, Wolves teased the announcement of the signing by quoting their star midfielder.

Registering 15 goal contributions in a relegated Leicester side last term, James picked up the EFL Young Player of the Year award, and will now look to kick on further as Wolves aim for an instant Premier League return.

Wolves have not exactly been active in the transfer window so far, with Friday's scare against Blackburn potentially serving as a warning of what is to come in the second tier should they fail to make the required reinforcements.

There is obvious quality in Peixoto's squad, but a signing of James' ilk could be a season-defining one.

In a Leicester side that struggled to adapt to life back in the second tier, the Wales international stood out before finishing the campaign with 15 goal contributions.

Andre started alongside Fer Lopez and Marshall Munetsi on Friday, with the latter drawing criticism from the fanbase despite netting the opening goal on the night.

As the game went on, the Old Gold looked more and more reliant on Lopez, who had been shifted out wide in the latter stages.

Adding James brings a proven presence at this level and could be the man to bring the needed inspiration from midfield outside of Lopez.

At the base, Andre can continue to ply his trade, clean up the mess and act as the tempo-setter that Wolves desperately need as they strive for promotion.

Cesar Peixoto must capitalise on Wolves situation - Andre has shown why

Of course, a side relegated from the Premier League will always be one of the favourites for promotion.

But alongside the quality in the Wolves squad, the group seems close-knit and likeable.

Andre engages with fans through his content, and he expressed a desire to right the wrongs of last season when he penned a new deal in May.

His excitement at watching James' footage backs this up, with the Brazilian clearly wanting to be part of the group that guides Wolves back to the top flight.

The need for reinforcements is still there, highlighted by the interest in Amario Cozier-Duberry. Still, the squad looks like one ready to tackle the promotion challenge after the wake-up call against Blackburn last Friday.
