Wolves have issued fitness updates before facing West Ham, with Santiago Bueno nearing a return and Marshall Munetsi stepping up his recovery. According to Molineux.news, Rob Edwards expects Bueno to shake off the knock that kept him out on Tuesday.
Munetsi missed all of December through injury, ruling him out of AFCON. He has been linked with a move away, though his energy in midfield remains a valuable asset.
Bueno sat out the Manchester United match on Tuesday, while Munetsi has taken a step forward in rehab. The Zimbabwe international has resumed work on the grass this week, but has not yet returned to full team training.
Tawanda Chirewa is expected to be back in contention after Zimbabwe’s group-stage exit at AFCON.
Defensive numbers have been stretched, so Bueno’s availability would be timely. Toti Gomes has a hamstring injury and Emmanuel Agbadou’s AFCON involvement further thinned options.
On Tuesday, Edwards had only two natural centre-backs available and found alternative solutions. Displays from Jhon Arias and Mateus Mane were encouraging, and Ladislav Krejci could continue in defence rather than midfield.
