Santiago Bueno scored the only goal of the game was Wolverhampton Wanderers knocked League Two Grimsby Town out of the competition.
For Wolves, the FA Cup can serve as a tonic for what has been a bruising and ultimately doomed Premier League campaign. However, they were made to work for it away to a Grimsby Town team who have already made magic in cup competitions this season.
It will certainly have been a while since many of these Wolves players have played on a pitch like the one at Blundell Park which showed it's wear and tear from the elements, leading to a lot of bobbling balls.
That may explain why there was little in the way of goalmouth action even if there was plenty of hustle and bustle.
In fact, the only shot on target until the 90th minute resulted in the game's only goal when João Gomes did well on the right and put in a low ball that Santiago Bueno was in the right place to finish.
Grimsby didn't have an effort on target themselves until the final minute when substitute Andy Cook headed straight at Sam Johnstone from close range.
After scoring the goal, Bueno needed to make an important block with the game in stoppage time after Tyrell Sellars-Fleming found space in the box and looked likely to equalise.
Wolves were able to survive a late fight back with Jackson Smith up for a corner in the final seconds and progress to the fifth round.
