A mural marking Wolverhampton Wanderers’ 150th anniversary has been unveiled ahead of the Black Country derby with West Bromwich Albion.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the nine-metre-wide, five-metre-tall artwork sits at the Molineux Subway entrance and features Billy Wright, John Richards, Steve Bull and Raul Jimenez.

It was revealed on Saturday, 19 September. Attendees included chairman Nathan Shi, directors John Bowater and John Gough, director of football operations Matt Wild, and Wolverhampton Council leader Councillor Stephen Simkins.

Commissioned by UK bookmaker Midnite, the club’s principal partner and front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2026/27 season, the piece brings together figures from across eras. It was painted by Joe Miles, who previously created the Diogo Jota mural at the Leaping Wolf pub.

Miles said the response from supporters had been overwhelmingly positive while he worked on site. Gough felt the changing shirts neatly chart the club’s history, from Wright’s old gold to the current strip, which he said has proved hugely popular. Simkins described it as a fitting tribute to the city’s football heritage.

Shi welcomed the addition, noting collaboration with the council and partners to showcase Wolves’ history and improve the Molineux area, and he praised the artist’s work.
