Wolves have recorded a £15.3m loss for 2024/25, with the 13-month reporting period equating to a £1.5m profit on a 12-month basis.
The club extended its year to 30 June to align with contracts and the football calendar, which also brought last summer's exits of Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri into these accounts. According to ExpressAndStar.com, Cunha joined Manchester United for £62.5m and Ait-Nouri moved to Manchester City for around £33.5m, rising to £36m with add-ons.
Further departures contributed to a £117m profit on player sales, up from £64.6m in 2023/24. Additional contingent fees arrived for Morgan Gibbs-White, Francisco Trincao and Pedro Goncalves.
Investment followed, with arrivals such as Tommy Doyle, Pedro Lima, Rodrigo Gomes, Andre and Sam Johnstone, plus a change of head coach from Gary O'Neil to Vitor Pereira. Amortisation and impairment charges increased to £87.8m from £67.2m. Wolves also added January reinforcements under Pereira to save their season and avoid relegation, including Emmanuel Agbadou at £16.6m and Marshall Munetsi at £15m.
That activity delivered a net player trading profit of £29.2m, compared to a £2.6m loss in 2023/24. Meanwhile, revenue slipped from £177.7m to £172m, reflecting a drop from 14th to 16th place and one fewer UK TV broadcast. Commercial partnerships rose by more than £1m, while average attendance dipped from 31,265 to 30,881.
The loss extends a four-year run in the red since an £18.4m profit in 2020/21, followed by deficits of £46.1m, £67.2m and £14.3m. Wolves did not replace Max Kilman after his £40m switch to West Ham, and Pedro Neto’s sale to Chelsea for a fee rising to £54m led to a late loan for Carlos Forbs that had little impact. Those choices, among others, have contributed to Wolves’ likely relegation in 2026.
