Wolves posted a £15.3million loss for 2024/25, their fourth successive year in the red, although the 13-month window annualises to a £1.5million profit. The last profit was £18.4million in 2020/21, followed by losses of £46.1million, £67.2million and £14.3million.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the club extended its accounting period to 30 June to align with Premier League peers and contract cycles.
The shift let last summer’s sales, Matheus Cunha to Manchester United for £62.5million and Rayan Ait-Nouri to Manchester City for about £33.5million, rising to £36million, fall into these accounts. Player exits generated £117million profit, up from £64.6million in 2023/24.
Signings including Tommy Doyle, Pedro Lima, Rodrigo Gomes, Andre and Sam Johnstone, plus new deals and the switch from Gary O’Neil to Vitor Pereira, drove amortisation and impairment to £87.8million, up from £67.2million. January additions Emmanuel Agbadou for £16.6million and Marshall Munetsi for £15million helped deliver a £29.2million net player trading profit, compared to a £2.6million loss a year earlier.
Wolves did not replace Max Kilman after his £40million move to West Ham, while Pedro Neto left for Chelsea for a fee rising to £54million. A late loan for Carlos Forbs had little impact, and these choices have contributed to likely relegation in 2026.
Revenue slipped from £177.7million to £172million as the team dropped from 14th to 16th and missed merit payments. There was one fewer UK TV game, 15 rather than 16, commercial partnerships rose by more than £1million, and average attendance fell from 31,265 to 30,881.
