According to ExpressAndStar.com, Wolves have reached a verbal agreement to sign Kieran Trippier on a two-year deal, with an option of a third, as part of a major squad rebuild.

The 35-year-old is a free agent after his final season with Newcastle United, and will undergo a medical once he returns from his post-season holiday.

Head coach Rob Edwards has led talks with the former England international amid competition from clubs in England and abroad, including some Premier League interest.

Trippier would be Wolves’ first summer addition, with the club targeting experience and leadership as several players prepare to depart.

The move aligns with wider plans, including interest in bringing striker Raul Jimenez back as the club seek to rebalance the squad ahead of a Championship promotion push.

The agreement follows Andre signing a new contract until 2030, the Brazilian midfielder committing to stay in the Championship. Right-back Jackson Tchatchoua is expected to depart after a difficult first year.

Joao Gomes is in talks to join Atletico Madrid, while further exits are anticipated as Wolves reset after a dreadful top flight campaign.

Trippier came through Manchester City, moved to Burnley, then joined Spurs, where he broke into the England side. He has 54 caps from 2017 to 2024, scored a 2018 World Cup semi-final free-kick against Croatia, and won La Liga in 2020/21 and the 2024/25 Carabao Cup.
