According to ExpressAndStar.com, Wolves are set for bumper home backing in the Championship, with season ticket renewals poised to pass 22,000. Sales stand at 21,906 and the club is expected to cap the total at around 22,500.

More than 1,500 supporters on the waiting list have taken up seats, with a few hundred tickets to go on general sale from 9am on Monday.

Season tickets in the Stan Cullis and Sir Jack Hayward Stands have sold out, while around 600 remain in the Steve Bull and Billy Wright Stands.

The club’s price cut of at least 25 per cent across all tickets has underpinned strong renewals, with more than 20,000 fans committing despite last season’s bottom-placed finish in the top flight.

Wolves aim to make an immediate return, and believe a packed Molineux will give them the best chance.

The Championship fixtures will be released at noon next Thursday, June 25, with the Carabao Cup first round draw also taking place that day.

Players not involved at the World Cup are due to report for pre-season in the first week of July, when they will meet new boss Cesar Peixoto for the first time.
