FLW's Old Gold Fan Pundit shares his thoughts on the 24-year-old midfielder's situation
Wolverhampton Wanderers have been told to make a clear decision regarding Tommy Doyle, who, of course, spent this past season on loan at Birmingham City.
The 24-year-old previously struggled for consistent minutes at Molineux during the 24/25 season, managing just three starts in the Premier League campaign before his temporary departure.
Now though, another Old Gold central midfielder, Andre, has committed his future to the club by signing a new four-year deal running until 2030.
The aforementioned Brazilian's situation makes him a near-certain starter in the engine room under Rob Edwards. But the question is... who partners him?
Yes, there's no official report to suggest that Blues will definitely move to try and re-sign Doyle, but it wouldn't be a surprise if they explored it after their recent £5m buy clause went unused.

FLW’s Wolves Fan Pundit, Thomas Woodhall, has shared his opinion on whether the Black Country outfit should keep or let go of Tommy Doyle this summer.
"Keep, keep, keep - I really rate Tommy Doyle," he said.
"I think he could’ve had a few chances this season in the Premier League, and the Birmingham fans seem to have a lot of good to say about him.
"I think his passing range is something we don't really have at the club at the moment, something we could’ve done with as a little bit of a difference in the midfield this year."
At St Andrew's, Doyle only made 19 Championship starts across the season, chipping in with three assists. It's not a crazily good return, but Woodhall backs Doyle to start alongside Andre next season - if they don’t sign a certain 21-year-old from Rennes.
The Fan Pundit continued by telling FLW, "I mean, if we don’t get Jordan James, Tommy Doyle’s that solid - right next to Andre in that 4-2-3-1 that I think Rob Edwards will play, he’ll be in the two with Andre.
"Even if Jordan James does come in, the Championship has 46 games plus cup games, ideal to have him as a player that either plays regularly and has Jordan James potentially higher up the field, or, you know, a substitute."
Regarding ex-Birmingham academy graduate James, The Telegraph has reported that Wolves admire the Welsh international, yet multiple other clubs are also circling - namely Leeds United and Villarreal - so competition for his signature will be tough.

Woodhall concluded his verdict on Doyle by saying, "But, definitely keep. I don’t see a world where we think of selling Tommy Doyle in the Championship. If we get promoted, whether he cuts it in the Premier League is a different story, but I really think 100% keep."
When he signed permanently for a reported fee of £4.3m two years ago, the club's former sporting director, Matt Hobbs, said, "Tommy is a fraction of the player he will become," - and he'll surely get a good chance to get back to his best next season.
Additionally, should Jordan James arrive or not, Wolves are likely to sign at least one central midfielder anyway, as Joao Gomes’ exit is looking imminent. Anyone familiar with the second tier knows that you need strong depth to have a good season, so you can actually imagine a couple coming in.
What we do know is that Woodhall’s view is clear and many other Wolves fans probably feel the same way, in that they need to keep Doyle and attempt to sign James.
