Wolves have announced that they have triggered an option in Nélson Semedo’s contract to keep him at the club.
The 29-year-old’s previous deal had been set to expire at the end of this season but the West Midlands outfit did have a clause which allowed them to extend his stay by two years.
And Wolves have announced that they have executed that clause to keep the defender at Molineux.
Financial issues meant that the decision had to be delayed, according to director Matt Hobbs, who insisted that all parties wanted Semedo to stay put.
He arrived three years ago and has gone on to make over 100 appearances.
