Wolves host Premier League leaders Arsenal at Molineux on Wednesday, aiming to spark a desperate survival bid.
The Black Country side has moved into a critical position, sitting bottom of the table with only nine points. Manager Rob Edwards oversaw a vital FA Cup win at Grimsby on Sunday, but now faces an Arsenal side that has won its last nine league games against Wolves. The hosts were agonisingly close to a point in the reverse fixture before a Mosquera own goal in the 94th minute sealed their fate. A result tonight is essential to close the gap on safe ground and avoid breaking Derby County’s all-time low points tally of 11.
Rob Edwards manages a squad weakened by injuries to key figures. Notably, top scorer Hwang Hee-chan is sidelined for several weeks with a calf injury. Toti Gomes is also expected to miss out as he rehabilitates a hamstring problem sustained in December. Consequently, Edwards is likely to rotate his lineup, with José Sá, Matt Doherty, and Hugo Bueno all pushing for a recall. Midfielder Andre is a doubt but will be assessed after “feeling it” following the weekend cup tie.
José Sá will start in goal behind a defensive unit led by Yerson Mosquera and Santiago Bueno, the latter fresh from scoring the winner at Grimsby. Rodrigo Gomes and Hugo Bueno are expected to occupy the wing-back positions. In midfield, João Gomes will anchor the side alongside either Angel Gomes or Andre. Teenage sensation Mateus Mane is set for an advanced role in support of a front two featuring Adam Armstrong and Tolu Arokodare, the latter having scored in the reverse fixture.
Wolves predicted XI: Sa; Mosquera, S. Bueno, Krejci; R. Gomes, A. Gomes, Mane, J. Gomes, H. Bueno; Armstrong, Arokodare
The Premier League fixture takes place at Molineux Stadium on Wednesday, 18 February 2026. Kick-off is scheduled for 20:00 GMT.
In the UK, the match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event. Fans can also stream the action via the Sky Go app or NOW TV.
