Women’s football art show opens during Paris Fashion Week | OneFootball

An exhibition dedicated to women’s football runs at Galerie Bachaumont in Paris from Thursday 1 to Sunday 4 October during Fashion Week, with free entry.

According to L'Équipe, the pop-up, staged in collaboration with UEFA and titled "Belonging - Playing at home" (Appartenir - jouer à la maison), brings together seven artists to present fresh perspectives and inspire a new generation.

Calixte Bernard, Kloé Camier, twins Lili and Eole Wurm, Mélina Levy, Dünya Boukhers and Emma Lazli-Bert present photography, painting, video and fashion design.

Curated by artistic director Fatima Rouina, the group was selected for their sustained involvement in the women’s game, with previous projects focused on female players and their representation.

Rouina says the show spotlights local contributors, offers a female voice in a field often led by men, and gives overdue visibility to their work. Visitors can find Bernard’s comic-inspired paintings and Boukhers’ upcycling that stitches together shirts from different teams.

She sees art as a more accessible route than the pitch, aiming to reach more people and affirm a constant, diverse culture.

Limiting the line-up to women also aims to inspire future creators. Although there are more women entering the space, she says finding those deeply engaged in these themes proved difficult, and events like this could open new paths.

She notes that men rarely question their legitimacy around football art, whereas many women do, so this platform could encourage them and invite new ways of seeing.
