World Cup 2026: Namibia ready to stay on course until the end
In their 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign, Namibia's Brave Warriors take on Malawi this Friday in Francistown, Botswana, before hosting São Tomé and Príncipe next Tuesday.
Currently sitting second in CAF Group H with 12 points, four behind leaders Tunisia, Namibia absolutely need a win to keep their dream of a historic first-ever qualification alive. Victories over Malawi and then São Tomé would give them a clear edge in the race for top spot or one of the best second-place finishes, which grant a place in the intercontinental playoff.
The stats are on the Brave Warriors' side: they beat Malawi 1-0 in their first meeting back in March and held them to a 0-0 draw in June at the Cosafa Cup. What's more, 400 Namibian fans will be making the trip to Francistown thanks to an initiative from the Federation and the Ministry of Sport.
