Before this final matchday, Cameroon trailed Cape Verde by just two points. With this draw, their chances of reaching the continental playoffs now hinge on the results from other teams. The first half was tough for Cameroon, plagued by inaccuracies and poor decision-making.

In the second half, the Indomitable Lions looked more threatening, but Angolan goalkeeper Hugo Marques pulled off a string of impressive saves. The Angolans nearly stunned Cameroon on the counter as well, striking the crossbar. Despite several chances and a tense finale marked by numerous yellow cards, the score remained level.

Cameroon must now wait for the outcome of other matches to find out if they will get a shot at the African playoffs for the World Cup.
