Cédric Bakambu responded after DR Congo's defeat to Senegal (2-3) this Tuesday at the Stade des Martyrs. The Congolese striker shared a message of hope on his social media despite this setback on Matchday 8, which complicates their chances of direct qualification.

The Democratic Republic of Congo saw its dream of direct qualification slip away after this heartbreaking home loss. Sébastien Desabre's men were leading 2-0 at halftime thanks to goals from Bakambu and Yoane Wissa, before suffering a spectacular Senegalese comeback in the second half.

Despite the disappointment, Cédric Bakambu made sure to reassure Congolese fans through a message on his official X page. "Thank you again for your incredible support despite the disappointment with the result. We will keep fighting for this beautiful flag, it truly is a pride to be Congolese! We'll come back stronger, nothing is over!" wrote the Real Betis forward.

This statement highlights the determination of the Leopards' captain, who refuses to give up despite the complicated situation. With only two matches left to play, DR Congo no longer controls its own destiny but still holds a mathematical chance of qualification.
