World Cup 2026 (Q): Regragui wants to win against Zambia
Already qualified for the 2026 World Cup, Morocco faces Zambia this Monday in Ndola. But for Walid Regragui, there’s no question of letting up.
The Atlas Lions’ head coach was clear in his press conference: his team wants to keep riding its winning momentum. “We are already qualified, but we are still Morocco. And Morocco always plays to win,” he declared to the media. Still, Regragui confirmed he will make sweeping changes to the lineup:
I’m going to rest nearly 80% of the players who played against Niger. Hakimi, for example, needs a break because he has club commitments coming up.
Even so, the former Wydad coach insists:
Those who come in will be competitive. We have a deep squad, and every player knows his responsibilities.
The coach knows that Zambia will be eager to impress in front of their home crowd:
They want to confirm their status in Africa. I expect a great match, but our goal is to keep racking up victories.
With 18 points from six matches, Morocco is determined to end this international break with a flawless record.
