Group E roundup in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup
Morocco/@Maroc Hebdo
The 2026 World Cup qualifiers (Africa Zone) resume this week with matchdays 7 and 8 across the nine groups. Foot Africa brings you the latest on Group E.
Morocco is dominating this group, and qualification seems almost certain unless something truly extraordinary happens. The Indomitable Lions, winners of all their games so far, can clinch the group as early as the next matchday when they face Niger.
This group is missing Eritrea, who withdrew, but sees the return of Congo to the qualifiers after initially being disqualified by FIFA due to political interference. The Red Devils currently sit at the bottom of the table.
Matchday 7:
1- Morocco 15 pts (+12)
2- Niger 6 pts (+2)
3- Tanzania 6 pts (-2)
4- Zambia 3 pts (-1)
5- Congo 0 pts (-11)
