The Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium, in the heart of the Ivorian capital Abidjan, will host a decisive clash this Tuesday evening between Benin and Lesotho, as part of matchday eight of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Benin will approach this fixture with confidence after their recent 1-0 victory over Zimbabwe, looking to strengthen their position in Group C.

Lesotho, on the other hand, will be under pressure following disappointing results, but they still cling to a faint hope of qualification. In the previous round, they suffered a heavy 3-0 defeat to South Africa.

The current Group C standings are as follows: South Africa leads with 16 points, followed by Benin (11 points), Nigeria (10 points), Rwanda (8 points), Lesotho (6 points), and Zimbabwe (4 points).
