World Cup 2026 qualifiers: Brahima Traoré unveils Burkina Faso squad

Head coach Brahima Traoré officially announced on Thursday, August 28, the Burkina Faso squad for the seventh and eighth rounds of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, where they will face Djibouti and Egypt.

During a press conference, Brahima Traoré revealed a 26-man "Stallions" roster set to take on Djibouti and Egypt on August 5 and 9, 2025, as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Two new faces

Alongside the regular names, Brahima Traoré has called up two newcomers for the first time. The first is Georgie Minoungou, a winger for Seattle Sounders in the United States, who was also eligible to play for Ivory Coast but recently obtained his Burkinabè papers.

The second is Clovis Jean Yves Bazimo. This young goalkeeper plays for Africa Sports in the Ivorian second division.
