Everything you need to know about the clash between Mozambique and Guinea
The Warriors are still in the race for qualification. They currently sit third, level on points with Uganda but trailing on goal difference.
Both teams are battling for second place behind Algeria, who have a four-point lead with just two games remaining in the qualifiers.
As for Guinea, they're virtually out of the running with 11 points, although mathematically, a spot in the play-offs is still possible.
This Group G World Cup 2026 qualifier will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 16:00 GMT at Estadio do Zimpeto in Maputo (Mozambique).
The game will be broadcast live on Arena Premium 3 Srbija HD and streamed on the official FIFA+ platform.
The head-to-head record between these two sides is evenly balanced. Guinea thrashed Mozambique 6-1 in 2013 during the 2014 World Cup qualifiers, just three months after a goalless draw (0-0) in Maputo.
The Warriors took the spoils in the reverse fixture of this qualifying campaign (0-1) in a match relocated to Morocco. Geny Cipriano Catamo netted the winner from the penalty spot in stoppage time.
