Guinea-Bissau and Sierra Leone finished level in Bissau on Thursday, September 4, 2025, as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. At Estadio 24 de Setembro, the Leone Stars struck first through Kei Kamara, before the Panthers hit back to salvage a point.

Guinea-Bissau hosted Sierra Leone at Estadio 24 de Setembro this afternoon in Bissau, in a clash counting for matchday 7 of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. After a fiercely contested first half, Sierra Leone broke the deadlock deep into stoppage time (45'+1) with Kei Kamara finishing off a pass from Sallieu Tarawallie.

After the break, the Leone Stars pushed to double their lead but couldn't find the net again. Trailing, the hosts waited until the final 20 minutes to turn up the pressure. Mama Baldé stepped up to level the score in the 74th minute after a pinpoint assist from Carlos Mané.

That equaliser revived hope among the Bissau-Guineans in their quest for a historic first-ever World Cup qualification. However, the Djurtus couldn't find a winner. The match ended in a stalemate, leaving both teams in a tricky spot in the Group A standings. Before this encounter, Sierra Leone and Guinea-Bissau sat third (9 points) and fourth (7 points) respectively.
