Nigerian international Victor Osimhen is ramping up the pressure on Algeria’s Mohamed Amine Amoura in the race for the top African goalscorer in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
After netting a brace against Gabon in the African playoff semi-final, the Galatasaray striker has raised his tally to 8 goals in the qualifiers, closing the gap to just two behind Algeria’s Mohamed Amine Amoura, who leads the chart with 10 goals.
A potential hat-trick in the playoff final against DR Congo could see Osimhen seize the crown as the top scorer in the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
