València is setting up giant screens at Roig Arena and the city’s Plaza del Ayuntamiento for Spain’s World Cup final against Argentina, with thousands expected to watch together.
According to Superdeporte, Metrovalencia will run 10 additional metro services to help fans get around until about 01:00. Kick-off is at 21:00 and, if there is extra time and penalties, services will continue until the match finishes.
FGV’s plan adds trains across key routes, including Machado to Avinguda del Cid and Alboraia Peris Aragó to Avinguda del Cid, plus services between Avinguda del Cid and Rafelbunyol. There will also be extra trains on València Sud to Paterna, Castelló to Seminari, València Sud to Seminari, Paterna to Torrent Avinguda, and Seminari to Torrent Avinguda.
For the tram, Line 10 will take supporters to Roig Arena via the Quatre Carreres stop, close to the venue used by Valencia Basket and major concerts. Tickets to watch the final there sold out within hours.
After the game, Line 10 trams will run between Alacant and Ciutat Arts i Ciències-Justícia via Quatre Carreres, and from Natzaret to Alacant, also calling at Quatre Carreres.
If Spain win, large numbers of fans are expected to gather in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de València to celebrate, as on previous triumphs for La Roja.
