Omar Alderete has not yet been ruled out of Paraguay’s World Cup last-16 match against France, scheduled for Saturday at 23:00.
According to L'Équipe, the Sunderland and Paraguay defender will undergo a fitness test on Friday night.

He sustained a knee problem during the group stage, and there remains at least one doubt over Paraguay’s line-up.
Head coach Gustavo Alfaro said the staff have put him through demanding physical work and they will assess on Friday how he feels and whether he is available.
Alderete is keen to play, but his availability remains uncertain until the evaluation is completed.
