Enzo Le Fée has reportedly been named on a preliminary France list ahead of this month’s internationals, according to Le Parisien. Newly appointed head coach Zinedine Zidane is assessing options for his first squad.
The Sunderland playmaker is yet to be capped at senior level. He made one appearance for France Under-23s in 2021 and also featured at the Tokyo Olympics.
Le Fée has impressed recently, scoring in last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Brentford. The report highlighted his form and positional versatility, and suggested unfamiliar names such as Stade Rennais forward Esteban Lepaul could be involved.
France are scheduled to play UEFA Nations League matches against Türkiye on 25 September, Belgium on 28 September, Italy on 2 October and Belgium again on 5 October, during an extended break running from 21 September to 6 October.
"Of course I think about it. Not about this year or this summer, to be honest, but it is one of my targets in my career to play a World Cup with my national team." The interview was with beIN Sports.
"First of all, to play for my national team. But if I can play one World Cup with my national team, I think that would be the top of my objectives. We are in the best league in the world. If I can perform in this league, why not?"
