Wout Faes has been named in AS Monaco’s squad for Sunday’s Côte d’Azur derby at Nice, kick-off 15:00, after recovering from an ankle sprain. According to Nice-Matin, head coach Sébastien Pocognoli has included the 27-year-old following a successful final fitness test.
Faes sustained the injury on 24 January at Le Havre. Pocognoli said yesterday the centre-back would complete a full training session for the first time since, with that session set to determine his inclusion.
There are no other returns, with the usual injured still absent: Hradecky, Salisu, Minamino, Pogba, Ouattara, Fati, Dier, Cabral and Mawissa.
Monaco’s squad for Nice comprises goalkeepers Köhn, Lienard, Stawiecki, defenders Henrique, Diatta, Faes, Kehrer, Samuel, Teze, Vanderson, midfielders Akliouche, Bamba, Camara, Coulibaly, Golovin, Idumbo, Zakaria, and forwards Adingra, Balogun, Biereth, Brunner.
The match is part of matchday 21 in Ligue one.
