Wrexham appear to have agreed a deal for Callum O’Hare and are closing in on Joe Worrall, only hours after Chris Wilder criticised their transfer approach.
According to Wales Online, Phil Parkinson’s side have an agreement in place for O’Hare and the 28-year-old was due in north Wales for a medical on Tuesday morning.
On Monday, the Sheffield United manager confirmed a Wrexham bid for O’Hare, believed to be about £6.5million, but stressed a move was far from certain. He also suggested Wrexham had cast their net widely across the Championship.
Wrexham are also reported to be finalising a permanent move for Burnley centre-back Worrall, 29, a former Nottingham Forest captain, despite interest from Sheffield United. Reports indicated the Welsh club had moved ahead and a medical was planned.
If completed, the double swoop would cap a remarkable 24 hours between the Championship rivals. Attention now turns to whether Wrexham can complete the paperwork before the transfer window shuts at 11pm on Tuesday.
