According to the Daily Mail's Simon Jones, Wrexham are showing interest in an ambitious move for Leeds' Nmecha, as well as exploring a potential deal for former Man United and Burnley defender Tuanzebe.

Both featured regularly in the Premier League last season, but that hasn't stopped Wrexham from plotting a move for the pair, with the Welsh outfit targeting their own place in the top flight next year.

Wrexham, under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have never been one to be under-ambitious, and with the news of their interest in Nmecha and Tuanzebe, that doesn't appear to be changing anytime soon.

Nmecha, 27, came through the ranks of Manchester City and has played in the Championship before on loan with Preston North End and Middlesbrough, and has also enjoyed spells with Wolfsburg, Anderlecht, and, most recently, Leeds.

Tuanzebe, 28, spent time in the Man United academy, making 37 first-team appearances for the Red Devils, suffering numerous injury woes, whilst spells with the likes of Aston Villa, Napoli, Stoke City, Ipswich Town, and Burnley followed, the latter of whom he was released by in the summer.

Between them, Nmecha and Tuanzebe amassed 45 appearances in the Premier League just last season, and persuading either of them to step down to the Championship would, on paper, appear to be an almighty task.

However, the odds won't defy Wrexham, who will continue to be ambitious in the market until they eventually reach the top flight, as both Nmecha and Tuanzebe could be at the Racecourse Ground in the next couple of weeks.

Aside from their Premier League experience, Nmecha and Tuanzebe have also played in the Champions League on numerous occasions, whilst the German has earned seven caps for his nation, and the Congolese has earned 17.

At 27 and 28, respectively, both are around the prime of their careers, and with Parkinson looking for players for the here and now to get them to the top flight, Nmecha and Tuanzebe fit the bill.

With Sam Smith, Kieffer Moore, Davis Keillor-Dunn, and Bailey Cadamarteri as options up top, Wrexham are not exactly short in this area, but adding Nmecha to the mix would be a game-changer.

The Red Dragons are looking to strike a deal for Norwegian defender Henrik Falchener from Viking, as Parkinson looks to further reinforce his back line with the addition of Tuanzebe.

Whilst Tuanzebe has struggled with injuries throughout his career, there is little denying his quality, and if he can stay fit, on a free transfer, he could be one of the signings of the summer if Wrexham can strike a deal.

How have Wrexham fans reacted to Lukas Nmecha and Axel Tuanzebe updates?

Wrexham fans have taken to social media to react to this update and share their opinions on the matter.

Had it not been for injuries, there is every chance Tuanzebe would have been a Premier League regular for the majority of his career, having shown glimpses of his undoubted ability with United previously.

Nmecha has never been especially prolific throughout his career, but as an athletic and physical number nine, the German could dominate the Championship.

This Wrexham fan is on board with the idea of Nmecha, and would welcome his addition in North Wales.

Tuanzebe's addition has been backed by this Wrexham fan; however, they are less convinced by the prospect of Nmecha, whose goalscoring record is hardly inspiring.
