The Red Dragons are set to strengthen once more by buying from a Championship rival
Wrexham's raiding of Championship rivals in the 2025-26 season looks set to continue in the lead up to Monday's transfer deadline, with a seven-figure deal agreed to bolster their defensive options.
The Red Dragons have recently upped their form to a new level, and in pursuit of their fourth consecutive promotion from the National League to the Premier League, they have won five of their last seven league matches to propel themselves into the top six of the second tier.
Phil Parkinson has been generously backed all season, with plenty of experience arriving in North Wales - divisional counterparts Sheffield United, Ipswich Town, Blackburn Rovers and Coventry City have been raided for Kieffer Moore, Nathan Broadhead, Dom Hyam and Ben Sheaf respectively, and the next club to feel the wrath of Wrexham is set to be Bristol City.

As reported by Rudy Galetti, Wrexham have agreed a deal with the Robins to sign their long-serving defender Zak Vyner, whose contract at Ashton Gate was set to expire in the summer of 2026.
With no sign of the 28-year-old penning a new deal, City are set to cash in on the Kenya-declared centre-half, with Galetti claiming a £1.5 million transfer fee has been agreed between the two clubs.
Vyner joined Bristol City's academy at the age of seven and made his professional debut in 2016, taking in loan stints with Accrington Stanley, Plymouth Argyle, Rotherham United and Aberdeen over the years.
Appearing over 250 times for City, Vyner's time at the club looks set to come to an end before the February 2 transfer deadline, and a fellow play-off contender is set to be strengthened in the process, with the Ashton Gate hierarchy choosing to take some money whilst they still can for his services.

Wrexham aren't exactly short of options at the back when everyone is fully fit, with Max Cleworth, Dom Hyam and Callum Doyle providing Parkinson with an incredibly solid defensive trio - Dan Scarr and Lewis Brunt can also provide very capable back-up.
But Vyner perhaps offers something a bit different to Scarr and Brunt - he's got plenty of Championship experience, and for the play-off push that Wrexham are on, that's going to be vital if the Red Dragons suffer with any injuries.
£1.5 million for a player that is out of contract in less than six months is a sensible enough fee for Wrexham to pay, but it's bound to ask questions of Bristol City's ownership, who have already lost Anis Mehmeti to Ipswich Town this window - now it looks likely to be Vyner's turn to move on to another second tier side, and one they're in direct competition with.
