Norwich City and Wrexham are interested in signing Saint Etienne and Ghana winger Augustine Boakye this summer
Norwich City and Wrexham are interested in signing Saint-Étienne and Ghana international midfielder Augustine Boakye this summer, after the 25-year-old enjoyed an excellent campaign in the French second tier last season.
Championship duo Norwich and Wrexham are interested in reinforcing their attacking options this summer, with Foot Mercato reporting that both the English second-tier duo have shown serious interest in the midfielder, with Anderlecht also monitoring the situation.
Boakye was an ever-present for the Greens in Ligue 2 last season, scoring five and assisting nine in 31 league games for the club, being deployed in numerous positions across the campaign, such as his importance to the side.

Boakye, 25, began his professional career in Austria with Wolfsberger after making the move to Europe in 2021 from the West African Football Academy.
He scored 15 and assisted 13 in just 54 appearances for Wolfsberger across all competitions before securing a €3 million (£2.5 million) move to Saint-Étienne in the summer of 2024.
The versatile Ghanaian, who is capable of operating anywhere across the frontline, as well as in central midfield, has since made 55 appearances for the Greens, scoring nine and assisting ten across all competitions.
He was called up to the Ghana squad for the recent World Cup in North America, but failed to register a single appearance for the Black Stars; now, he could be set for a move to the United Kingdom, unless Anderlecht have something to say about it.
Foot Mercato report that the French outfit will be 'very demanding' to let go of one of their prized possessions this summer, as Norwich and Wrexham may be forced to stump up sizeable fees if they want Boakye to head their way this summer.

Boakye demonstrated his ability to play in numerous roles across numerous positions for Saint-Étienne last season, being deployed as a right-winger, attacking-midfielder, left-winger, central-midfielder, and even as a centre-forward on occasion.
The Ghanaian's ability and willingness to adapt to various roles makes him a fascinating option for both Norwich and Wrexham, who could both certainly make use of that versatility.
Boakye has proven to be effective in all phases of play, though his aggression and tenacity did see him pick up 12 yellow cards last season, something he must work on moving forward.
The Ghanaian could fill in anywhere across Philippe Clement's forward line at Carrow Road, whilst Phil Parkinson is likely eyeing Boakye as another option in that attacking midfield role, though his capability of playing further forward or deeper will play a role in Wrexham's pursuit.

Norwich, over the past few seasons, have consistently struggled with injuries, especially in the final third, with each of Ante Crnac, Papa Diallo, Forson Amankwah, and Matej Jurasek missing large parts of last campaign in the treatment room.
Their controversial home defeat to West Bromwich Albion on the opening day had Jurasek absent, with the winger having since returned to the Czech Republic with Slavia Prague, whilst Andre Brooks has joined from Sheffield United to provide another option on the right flank.
Ali Ahmed's recent long-term injury has seen a deal for former Sheffield Wednesday winger Anthony Musaba emerge, as Boakye would provide another option across a highly undependable Norwich forward line.
Wrexham continue to splash the cash on the likes of Danny Imray, Alan Browne, and Anthony Patterson this summer, with another big move for a centre-back potentially on the cards, with Boakye another option in the forward areas before the deadline.
With Nathan Broadhead, Josh Windass, and Davis Keillor-Dunn the only obvious options in the number ten roles at the Racecourse Ground, Boakye would provide excellent competition, as the race for his signature heats up.
