The Championship match between Wrexham and Norwich City was halted on Saturday after a medical emergency in the crowd five minutes into the second half.

According to Wales Online, Norwich went in front through Anis Ben Slimane on nine minutes, before Sam Smith equalised for the home side to make it 1-1 at the time of the stoppage.

The referee then took both teams off the pitch. Wrexham said on social media that the game had been paused and players had left the field, while Norwich posted that play had been stopped and sent thoughts to those affected.

Play resumed roughly 15 minutes later after a brief warm-up. Wrexham said players would return at 16:20 for a five-minute warm-up before the restart.

Both clubs later passed on best wishes to the supporter who was taken ill.
