Wrexham’s run-in assessed: all-Wales opener, Birmingham trip and the top two

With 10 games left, Wrexham sit in the final play-off spot. They are six points off fifth with a game in hand, and about 70-74 are usually needed, Wrexham have 57. A deserved 2-1 defeat at Hull checked momentum.
According to NY Times, Phil Parkinson would have taken this in Wrexham’s first season at this level for 43 years. Swansea visit on Friday, and his teams often respond swiftly to setbacks. Prediction: Wrexham 2-1.
Watford away is rearranged from the FA Cup weekend, their form erratic. Wrexham are without George Dobson for the last match of his ban. Sheffield United away follows under Chris Wilder, improved yet inconsistent, and Kieffer Moore is still out. Predictions: 1-1, 1-1.
After the break comes West Brom away. Albion are on a third manager after Ryan Mason and Eric Ramsay left, with James Morrison expected to remain interim. Southampton at home will be moved, and Tonda Eckert has them resurgent. Predictions: Wrexham 2-0, 2-2.

Middlesbrough at home ends it. The top two and top six could still be in play, with Millwall’s 33 points from 15 since Christmas a factor. Home advantage has served Wrexham well. Prediction: 1-1.
