Now, defender Lotte Wubben-Moy is the latest player to withdraw. Wiegman revealed in her pre-match press conference that the Arsenal player is unwell so her absence should not be too alarming for club manager Renée Slegers.

The England manager also revealed that goalkeeper Hannah Hampton will miss the game against Brazil due to an elbow injury.

Khiara Keating and Anna Moorhouse are the other two goalkeepers who were initially called up and are likely to be in the frame to start at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

Brighton's Sophie Baggaley, who has only featured in League Cup games for her side so far this season, has been brought into the squad.
