Easter Monday action from Adams Park as Wycombe Wanderers hosted play-off rivals Bradford City.
Bradford City came from behind to beat Wycombe Wanderers 2-1 at Adams Park on Easter Monday.
The Chairboys made a strong start to the game and took the lead after six minutes. Luke Harris picked up a loose pass deep inside Bradford's half, before playing in Caolan Boyd-Munce, who set Andre Vidigal up to curl a beauty past Sam Walker.
Wanderers thought they had a second when Aaron Morley's cross was turned towards goal by Cauley Woodrow. The effort was parried away by Walker, but looked to have crossed the line, leaving a twinge of controversy in the contest.
That controversy would come back to haunt Wycombe in the second half. Bradford levelled just five minutes after the break after Bobby Pointon steered home a rebound from Stephen Humphrys' initial shot.
With 20 minutes to play, the Bantams turned the contest on its head when Aden Baldwin was left unmarked in the Wycombe box to stroke in a Max Power free-kick, which would be the decisive moment in the contest.
Wycombe took the lead just after the five-minute mark when Harris pounced on a loose pass from Bradford inside their own half. He played the ball into Boyd-Munce, who found Vidigal on the edge of the box. The winger twisted past Pennington before curling one into the top right corner.
The Bantams took a while to settle into the game. They first tested Will Norris ten minutes after going behind via a Bobby Pointon strike from close range which the Wycombe keeper batted out for a corner.
Wanderers thought they had a second when Aaron Morley's deep cross was met at the far post by Cauley Woodrow. The ball was clearly touched over the line by the Chairboys striker, but referee Will Finnie said otherwise.
The teams went into the break with Wycombe a goal to the good after Vidigal's early stunner. It had been a controlling performance from Michael Duff's men, who were unlucky to not be two goals in front.
Five minutes after the game resumed, the Bantams were level. A cheap turnover from Wycombe allowed Humphrys one-on-one with Norris, who saved the initial shot before Pointon slammed home the rebound.
Bradford then turned the contest on its head with just over 20 minutes left. Baldwin was left unmarked in the home side's box, striding in and hitting Power's cross on the volley to give his side a crucial lead.
Substitute Nathan Lowe would rue a huge chance to level the game not long after his introduction. Woodrow's cushioned header into his path allowed him to strike at goal, but he scuffed his effort straight into the arms of Walker.
After nine minutes of stoppage time, Finnie brought the fixture to an end, which all but ended Wycombe's hopes of securing a play-off place this season.
As for Bradford, they climbed to third in the League One table, putting distance between themselves and sixth-placed Stevenage. Alexander's men look set for a play-off campaign on their return to the third tier with that result.
