Xabi Alonso fires training ground warning to Real Madrid players | OneFootball

New Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso this week sent a crystal clear message the way of his squad, regarding their collective attitude for the season ahead.

That’s according to Cadena SER, who have on Monday provided an insight into the latest developments in the Blancos’ camp.

Real Madrid are of course primed to kickstart a new era this coming Wednesday.

After a hugely disappointing campaign in 2024/25 under the watch of Carlo Ancelotti, Florentino Pérez and co. opted to bring in the aforementioned Xabi Alonso as the club’s new headmaster.

As much marks the Spaniard’s first experience in the dugout at one of the game’s very top clubs.

Safe to say, though, that Alonso has not been at all shy in immediately laying down the law with his star-studded new squad of players.

As per a report from Javier Herráez of SER:

“Whoever doesn’t run and whoever doesn’t make an effort won’t be playing. Whatever their name is. Whoever saves a run, gets a yellow card. And the second time gets a red card. With Xabi Alonso, you know him, there’s little nonsense. If you save yourself from pointless runs… it’s another thing that you won’t be running like a defender, but you’ll have to put pressure on the center-backs all the time.”
