Xabi Alonso has left Marc Guiu without a Chelsea squad number for 2026-27, signalling a possible exit. Guiu has been linked with Real Sociedad, Sevilla, Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Saudi football. Renumberings include João Pedro taking the number nine from Liam Delap, Fofana the three and Mudryk the 33, while new arrivals include Pep Chavarría 29, Palestra two, Barco four and Lacroix five. Signed in 2024 for 6 million euros, he has a contract to 2029 with an option of one more, and may need to earn Alonso’s trust away from Stamford Bridge.
