One outlet has gone ahead and named ten potential new managers Chelsea could turn to to replace Enzo Maresca.
Of course, we are absolutely getting well and truly ahead of ourselves here, but the outlet argues that if Chelsea fail to get good results in their next two games against Benfica and Liverpool, then the Blues head coach could find himself in serious trouble with the club’s board and a decision could be made.
To be honest, I’m not sure at the moment whether Chelsea would even sack Maresca after that scenario, but I wouldn’t be ruling it out either. We’ve see a bunch of PR articles sent directly to the media from the club this morning, like this one from Matt Law of The Telegraph, basically saying that Maresca’s job is not under any threat right now and he’s safe.
But then we’ve also had an article from Sky Sports today that says Maresca’s job could potentially soon be under threat.
When a club comes out and tells the media that they are backing a manager, it often means it’s a vote of confidence which ironically actually does mean the manager IS under pressure.
Either way, Football365 are speculating today and have come up with a list of 10 managers who Chelsea could turn to in the event that Maresca does leave sometime soon.
10. Julian Nagelsmann
9. Diego Simeone
8. Unai emery
7. Antonio Conte
6. Carlo Ancelotti
5. Oliver Glasner
4. Andoni Iraola
3. Liam Rosenior
2. Xavi
1. Marco Silva
No way can I see Conte or Ancelotti coming back to Chelsea. Iraola is a goof shout and I like Glasner and Rosenior too.
