Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Xavi Simons has reportedly urged Manchester City attacker Savinho to join him at the club since his failed move last summer.

Spurs held talks to sign the ‘unstoppable‘ Brazilian last year, but a deal did not work out. The Lilywhites retain interest in Savinho, and Xavi has tried to persuade him to sign.

They played together at Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven, and a reunion could be on the cards in the coming weeks.

Tottenham have been in talks to sign the Man City star, and a deal could be agreed soon.

Manager Roberto De Zerbi needs quality attackers if Tottenham are to challenge for European qualification next season.

De Zerbi also has Fiorentina striker Moise Kean on his summer transfer wish list. Paris Saint-Germain striker Goncalo Ramos has been offered to the club.

Tottenham should be challenging for the major trophies, and their woeful campaign this term was a wake-up call.

They have to get plenty of things right this summer, and adding Savinho to their squad will be a good place to start.

The talented Brazilian did not play regularly under Pep Guardiola, but could be an undisputed starter at Spurs.

He has what it takes to become one of the best wingers in the world, and it appears De Zerbi is confident about turning him into the finished article.
