MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continues with CSD Xelajú MC hosting Real Estelí FC in Group D on Thursday at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
Xelajú MC eyes taking sole possession of first place in the group. The Guatemalan side is currently tied on six points with leaders CD Olimpia but occupies second place on goal difference. Romário da Silva and Pedro Báez have been vital on offense, either scoring or creating opportunities to score.
Xelajú MC comes from a 3-0 win over CD Águila of El Salvador with goals from Jorge Aparicio in the 26th minute, Antonio López in the 48th, and Pedro Báez in the 90+4.
Real Estelí FC seeks to rebound from a 3-nil loss in its opening match at CD Municipal. The back-to-back runners-up seek to earn their first points of the campaign on their quest to reach a third consecutive final in the tournament.

Xelajú MC and Real Estelí will meet for the second time in the Concacaf Central American Cup. In their previous encounter, Real Estelí earned a 1-0 victory on Matchday 2 of Group B on August 1, 2023, at Estadio Independencia in Estelí (NCA), with a headed goal from Arley Bonilla. That match remains Xelajú’s only official Concacaf appearance against a Nicaraguan club.
Real Estelí FC remains unbeaten in their series against Guatemalan opponents in the Concacaf Central American Cup, with one win and one draw. They tied 1-1 with CSD Municipal on Matchday 2 of Group D on August 8, 2024, at Estadio Pensativo in Antigua (GUA). Pedro Altán scored for Municipal, while Harold Medina equalized for “El Tren del Norte.”
