MIAMI – The 2025 Concacaf Central American Cup continues with CSD Xelajú MC hosting LD Alajuelense in the Second Leg of the Final on Wednesday at Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
The series is level at 1-1 after a draw in Costa Rica in the First Leg. Xelajú enters with the advantage on away goals.
The First Leg saw Jesús López hand Xelajú the lead from the penalty spot, before Ronaldo Cisneros equalized for Alajuelense. Xelajú goalkeeper Darío Silva had a standout performance with seven saves, the most in one match in the Knockout Stage of the 2025 edition.
Xelajú will look to defend its lead in front of its home crowd to win what would be a first-ever international title for Los Chivos. It would also become the first Guatemalan club to win the competition.
Back-to-back champions LD Alajuelense will aim for a victory to win a third consecutive Central American Cup and seventh overall international title.
The away goals rule will be used as the first tiebreaker for a draw on aggregate. A 1-1 draw would trigger extra time and a penalty shootout, if necessary, to decide a winner.
The winner of the series will receive a bye and advance directly to the Round of 16 of the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.
