Yakiv Kinareikin is seizing his chance at Villarreal B, becoming a cornerstone of David Albelda’s side in the early season.
According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the Ukrainian keeper spent 2025/26 in the shadow of a standout Rubén Gómez, now third-choice with the first team, before stepping forward this season.
He has already matched his entire tally from last term, three matches and 270 minutes, and has conceded only two goals, one fewer than the same stage last year.
His decisive stops have underpinned a six from six start for the reserves, with notable wins against Rayo Majadahonda, Algeciras and Huesca.
Kinareikin joined Villarreal B last summer from Karpaty Lviv, having previously played for SK Dnipro-1.
Now settled in Spanish football, he is content and eager to keep proving his worth, while his calm presence brings assurance to the defence.
