FC Barcelona mark their long-awaited return to the Spotify Camp Nou with a top performance against Athletic Club. From their intensity to their ingenuity, the Catalan giants were simply too much for their Basque opponents.

A 4-0 victory at home, Hansi Flick’s side thoroughly outclassed their opponents. Goals from Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, and Fermin Lopez ensured that all three points went to Barça as the team temporarily reclaims the top spot in La Liga.

Here are the player ratings for the Barça players.

Barcelona Player Ratings vs Athletic Club:

Joan Garcia: 7.5

Showcased exactly why he was missed, and his presence in between the sticks certainly made things difficult for Athletic Club. Beyond just his saves, his passing was elite as well.

Jules Kounde: 7.5

A sharp and efficient Jules Kounde is what Barça got today, and the difference was massive. His link-up play was elite, and it allowed Barcelona to cut through Athletic Club like butter.

Pau Cubarsi: 8.0

Yet another brilliant performance from Pau Cubarsi, who was clearly in control during the game. His passing was efficient, and his defensive work was praiseworthy.

Gerard Martin: 8.0

Started off as a central defender and then was shifted to the left-back position, and he did great in both. Top performance from the Spaniard.

Alejandro Balde: 7.0

Quite sharp in the first half, he was making full use of the width and his speed to trouble the Athletic Club players. Unfortunately, he took a hit in the opening 45 minutes that prevented him from playing the second half.

Eric Garcia: 8.0

Despite not being credited for the assist he provided to Fermin Lopez, he was still the mastermind behind it. Beyond that, his defensive performance and workrate was top-notch.

Dani Olmo: 6.5

While the rest of his teammates looked sharp and always a step ahead of Athletic Club, Dani Olmo was not on their wavelength. Disrupted some of his team’s counterattacks with slow decision making and his passing left a lot to be desired as well.

Fermin Lopez: 8.0

Sharp and ready to make an impact, Fermin Lopez was focused for most of the game. His pressing and intensity was solid, and he even managed to get a goal for himself.

Lamine Yamal: 9.0

Stunning performance from Lamine Yamal, who was consistently putting Athletic Club players in inconvenient scenarios. Moreover, his trivela pass that led to Ferran Torres scoring was simply surreal. Then, late in the game, his beautiful play provided another sensational assist to Ferran Torres yet again.

Ferran Torres: 8.5

Solid performance from Ferran Torres, who was slightly fortunate to convert a beautiful pass from Lamine Yamal. Beyond that, he should have done better with the chances that came his way. However, late in the game, he scored a second thanks to Lamine Yamal’s genius.

Robert Lewandowski: 8.5

Top performance from the Polish goalscorer, who now finally seems to have found the right sharpness again. Opened the scoring for the Barça at the new Spotify Camp Nou, and also continuously helped out the team defensively as well.

Substitutes Ratings:

Ronald Araujo: 7.0

Great after coming on, he provided a lot more strength and solidity in the Barça defense.

Dro Fernandez: 6.0

Decent cameo from the young Spaniard.
